For the next project, I decided to keep it Star Trek, but go with something a little more 'conventional.'
I'm building the Revell Germany 1/600 scale Original Series version from their 50th Anniversay release

Quick look at the kit contents.
On a side note here: while some may not like the deflector grid on the model, I actually like it.

The completed saucer section.
All of the window inserts are in place, as are the running lights and impulse engines.
I back painted all of the windows and lights with glow paint, then with white or black to simulate lit/unlit windows.
The impulse deck was painted with a custom-mixed medium grey that I also used on other parts of the ship

I painted the outer nacelle domes with Tamiya clear red, and then painted the inner domes with yellow, followed by a red wash, followed by steel for the fan details

Completed base. This will be simply painted in with black later

The completed Nacelle assemblies.
I painted the inner grilles with a blue wash, and the grills on the intercoolers with a black wash.
The deflector grid lines were then drawn in with a mechanical pencil

Completed saucer and secondary hull assemblies.
Like with the nacelles, I drew in the deflector grid with pencil.
As on the saucer, these windowsz were also back painted with glow paint, followed by white or black

Finished assembling the ship, minus the exterior domes on the nacelles, then put on the decals.
After the decals were dry, I gave the whole model a coat of Krylon Matte finish, then installed the outer nacelle domes.
