Needle size

I don’t think it really matters as long it’s thinned enough to spray. I spray Tamiya gloss colors and clear thru my old Passche H airbrush.

Smaller needle diameters tend to be used for narrow fine airbrushing techniques such as for mottled /camo schemes without masking of WW2 Luftwaffe aircrafts, armor camo, etc….

I have several airbrushes so I can choose any clearcoat I want.

I use Mr Super Clear UV cut in spray cans. That works so well I don't even bother with my airbrush.

Now to answer your question. If you are painting cars, you don't need to go any smaller than 0.35mm needle. I usually use 0.50mm needle in my airbrush for cars. And 0.35mm if I am painting a fade, or some special reason I need more control.
