NATO's LanceR- a Romanian MiG 21MF in 1/48

Welcome back, Chuk! Your new digs look very nice, and I love that metal finish! You should tackle the rocket from "When Worlds Collide" sometime, I think your technique would look great on it.

Thanks, guys! I've been mucking along- lower wings are on- I'm waiting to get hold of the PE template for the upper wing from a friend before I glue them on. Anyone ever used it? Can you do it with the wings glued on? I've been adding various bits of PE, working on the wing tanks, etc.

Baron, I don't plan on leapig into NMF builds! It is nice to have a metallic paint that I can count on, though- cheers!

Rock on, my friends-

Life after a big move throws a lot of surprises at you, along with all of life's regular highs and lows. Just in modeling I've gone through periods of not even looking at the bench, to hours of studying the subject and subsequent squalls of charging ahead and then banging my against the table. It's been about 7 weeks since my last post, so here's a long one for you. Forgive me if I reiterate some basics- my original mission remains to instruct and entertain, and help grow our beloved hobby. Cheers!

Great update Chuk
Thanks for throwing all those tips in too,...just purchased my first jar of Mr. primer surfacer 1000
will try it out.
Those extra details on the LanceR are looking great
Cheers

Thanks, Belugawrx!

Progress! Here's the latest from my bench- enjoy! It may be a while before the next update- I've got another project that will sideline the LanceR for a bit. I'll let you know more about that as soon as I can- cheers!

Thanks, JMac and NecronautDrummer- I very much appreciate the kind words. I hope to get a little bench time in today, but I'll be putting this build off to the side once the kit for my first magazine article build arrives. :D

Also, I've put my review of Icaerodesign's 1/32 LanceR C conversion set in the review forum- check it out!

I'm still waiting for my "mystery project", so I've pressed on with the LanceR. You do a lot with scrap wire, brass tube and styrene if you put your mind to it!
