I finally have time to make another post!! ;D
I have finished up the fiber in the main body of the ship, here is a photo of the body:

And now the inside, I had more fibers running around in there than expected, which of course caused problems:

I taped up the fibers in an attempt to get the ends of the various strands even. This was done to get an even light distribution between each fiber. If the fiber is too long, it might extend past the LED, and get little light, and the same thing might happen if the fiber is too short. Also, I had to add a second fiber can to hold them and block light:

In the above photo, you can see how the light cans block stray light, and channel it straight to the fibers. Here is a bottom view of the ship with the two halves fit together:

Next I started to work more on the wings. The blue ports on the ends of each wing, had a molded detail on them. I first sanded that detail off. Next I took a look at the photo etch part. Didn't like what I saw. The directions stated that it should either be glued on top of the frame, or the frame removed. I also took some brass mesh, and cut out the proper shape. The first photo shows the photo etch part next to the brass mesh, and the second photo shows the different combinations of parts on the wing:

I chose to go with the brass mesh. It preserves the detail of the molded part, and has a nice effect when lit up. It is metallic until the lights are turned on, and then it glows blue, you no longer see the metallic part, just the mesh grating.
More updates in a few days, I have to get moving on this thing!!
