The nice man from FedEx delivered my latest acquisition.
Now the decision; How long do I leave it before I take the plastic off

You mean you haven't taken the plastic off yet

For me that is the equivalent of a kid licking their food to claim it so no one else can eat it :D

I usually cannot resist looking inside immediately

LOL, I'm trying to be very restrained

This is one of the kits on my wish list. Interested to see how this progresses.
It may be a while, I've become a collector of kits recently
Not sure when I will build any of them
It's potentially going to be my retirement present/s to myself

Me too. Gotta make sure everything is there or you may be sorry when you finally get around to building it and discover there are missing parts. Especially if it is gonna sit in a stash for years.

The place I get these models from is probably not where you'd expect, and they don't have a return policy, and don't even guarantee all the parts are there on the already open boxes, so in the future I may have some pretty crazy looking models.
Worst case I'll just do a diorama with the models in 'maintenance' ;)

Oh, totally understand and no expectations. I also have quite a few kits in my stash in preparation for my retirement days. I've also started collecting STL files of future 3D printing projects I want to do. At my current stage of life a modeling/design project can span years with all the interruptions life seems to throw at me.
