So I hit a major snag tonight while trying to do a rust wash which may or may not set me back a bit.

I coated the bow plate with some AK gloss and then attempted to do a rust wash, at first it looked good but not just looks like the color of a cheese pizza. Should i Respray the whold piece dark gray and just pin wash the rust?

Also when I tried to rust wash the anchor, im not sure what happened but the wash and the clear coat turned to a latex almost and stripped the hull to bear plastic.

My thought on the heavy rust, is the ship would of taken a beaten in the North atlantic but maybe to much
