Bought a few weeks ago. Now being de-chromed, awaiting Gloss Black paint! Some parts escaped the dip but no more. I hate scraping chrome off to get a connection, so it's all in the oven cleaner.

Well I wouldn't say fun, poor fitting of parts, opening up contact holes, Although now stripped of chrome as it was far too thick and parts too small to file chrome off.

Fun as in challenging. I like a good challenge. But I know what you mean. Delicate and brittle parts too.

I couldn't get my windshield frame to fit either so I tucked it underneath. I cut and pivoted the upper glass a bit too. Later I realized the windshield wipers wouldn't work that way. Oh well. I should have just fabbed a new one like you did which is much better looking.
