I cut out all the windows in the shuttle, placed an LED in it and used brass screen to get the electricity into the shuttle.   It is a bit fiddly, so I wouldn't do that again.  

One way to do the connections is with scale train rails.  They have connectors and will just slide into each other.   But it would be easier to just build in sections and do the lighting separately.  

After tomorrow I will be away from the site for a week and a half.   It is crunch time at work and I will basically put in a months labor in 9 days.   So if I don't answer quickly that will be why.
