Mirror Models - 1/35 US Military Bulldozer

This is what I'm saying about the Wizard hat is on!!! Keep it going T!!!

Cheers!!!

Luv the details to the engine... Looks like a sweet kit... Also like the idea of the container solution to small parts..

Thanks fellas!! I appreciate you guys keeping tabs on me....it helps to keep me out of trouble!! :p

Well the weekend has arrived! With the warmer weathering finally starting to show a little it does become harder to get to the bench with all the Spring cleaning items and softball games to attend (2 Girls + 2 Separate Teams = No supper @ Home Until Late June)!! Yet as modellers, we still manage to sneak in some precious time sniffing the glue and paint!

Not much of an update other than a little forward progress here. I banged out the track construction the other day. Surprisingly this went rather quickly, only taking about and hour or so...and they are movable still!! LOL

The two link sections slip together without glue...

Then it was a matter of just aligning the growser pads with the pins on the links and then a touch of glue between the two only.

With the tracks out of the way, it's time to get back to the main construction. There is not too much to the frame itself. Only a few parts, mild cleanup and go!

Another quick dry-fitting to make sure things fit well.. I found it a little easier to remove a lot of the setting pins from most of the parts as they were a slight bit oversize.

There are still a couple minor additions with bolt heads and such for the engine to go but the bogie and wheel construction is on deck for tonight I think!!

Wow. Just catching up. Todd man, this is looking fantastic. That engine is sweet man, A++

Thanks guys!! ;) Glad to have you guys along for the ride!! ;D

Another little update to keep me in the game here!! I managed to get the bogies and wheel underway. I have found more often than not, the mounting pins are pretty much useless on this kit and either should be removed, cut and sanded thinner or replaced with brass or styrene rod stock. I still thing the kit looks great but Mirror should probably think about investing more time in getting the mounting pins and hole to match up, Oh well!! Time to play...

First up was the rails to the bogies. There were a couple mold seams that needed to be removed on the top and bottom. Subsequently, the traversed over the molded bolts which as you figure are not always a fine time in the old coral to remove.

While the detailing is not too bad, the bolts Mirror added to these features should actually be hex -shaped and not round. Sine I needed to sand anyway, I chose to remove them all, sand and replace.

After a little surgery to add new bolts, it was time for another dry-fit.

Well, that is it for the moment. Time to switch gear and jump into the cab section; the floor and controls are next. So far so good. I might be in good shape by the end of the week on this thing!

Thanks for tuning in for a bit!!

Very nice. I absolutely love the scratched detail, tedious but still tons of fun.
