Zimmerit is a cool website focused on the golden age of anime fandom (late '70s to the '90s) as well as the garage kit industry in Japan. A new article demonstrates Max's technique using hand-painted lacquers to achieve mottling undercoats. I'm personally not into MaK kits, but this looks rather useful and shows how he achieves that worn, weathered look.

Zimmerit is pretty awesome for anyone who's been an anime fan since the '80s, or at least those who like that period. If you are nostalgic for stuff like Megazone 23, Macross, Bubblegum Crisis, and the pre-Evangelion period of Gainax, you will certainly fall in love with this site.

Wow... Some pretty neat stuff - Thanks for sharing [didn't know this site existed]. Always love finding more materials for improving my skills or/ the lack-thereof. KOOL!
