I ordered the AK Matte, and went ahead and grabbed the Tamiya detail masters sets G and H for figure detailing and aging. May help.
Finished the Sarge, put multiple coats of yellow on his stripes, but couldn't seem to pull a nice straight line. Too much coffee in the mornings. I should've etched the lines a bit deeper with my panel line etcher before painiting, it would've given me a better base for the yellow and then panel liner to delineate the chevron patches. I think once I complete "Sarah", I'll go back to vehicles.... no organic colors on those, ha ha.
Put a bit of detail onto Sarah this morning, cleaned up some lines and added a few more coats of color onto her skin. Still some more detailing to be done.
Going to stay with the natural brown on the leather jacket, but now I'll have to paint her shoes purple, something about a matching outfit, which my lovely wife pointed out this morning- (eyeroll).
Coming along, as soon as the AK matte arrives, I'll put a coat or two on the officers, and now Sarah's dress as well and get rid of that shine.
I have been very pleased with these kits, the details are great, and the flash/mold lines are minimal, though the victim's kit had a bit more sanding required and some rougher mold lines. Overall, these are nice little kits.
