Yes I know this is a kit for a IDF Sherman, but it is really a M4A1. I intend to make this a ETO tank.

Details look fantastic!!! These little additions really make this Sherman pop. Nice Job!!!

Can you explain a little on how you're creating the metal details parts. Is this all from scratch or from PE kits?

If from scratch, what materials are you using? I ask because I'd like to start building up my collection of scratch materials to work from.

Some of what you see is photoetch, but I use a lot of lead foil and copper wire. The wire you can get from any place that has jewlery making supplies. I believe you can get lead foil from Squadron. I also use a lot styrene stock and it comes in about any shape you want.

The tie downs are made with wire that I bend with pliers. The lead foil can be cut with scissors and is easily moved into shape.

Oh, also, how did you do those numbers?

Those were from Archer Dry Transfers. They work just like water slide decals. Somehow they put resin onto decal film. They also make rivets and weld beads.

I got out some styrene hex rod and added a few bolts. The upper hull gets its first coats of paint starting with black green and then two shades of OD.
