Construction had began on this Abrams tank. I really like the fact that this kit came with poly caps for the wheels. The poly caps allow the wheels to remain in place with the wheels still able to rotate. Here are some update pics on this build.

I have been mainly focusing on the lower hull portion. It's completely built and painted. I am really satisfied with it so far as well as the overall kit.

Movin along fast. You plan on some dust and grit weathering style? If I may suggest, use some reflective ribbon behind the sight glass and optics to simulate that crazy coating they have ( red, green, etc. )

Yeah I work nights so when I am off I have a lot of time and I get bored at night doing the same thing. Thats why I was able to do this pretty quick because I didnt have anything else to do...lol...Thanks for the tip TBadger, I did not even know about the reflective ribbon. Just for a note, that glass was a pain in the butt ha ha. I am at work tonight so I will not be able to do anymore work to it until around Wed. As far as weathering and stuff, I do not have the pigments for it and I am tight on money right now so I may not be able to do any weathering. However, the deadline is not for awhile so I might be able to get some next month or so.

I just built this kit a couple months ago. One nice easy way to weather the tracks is to use Polly's Scale Model Railroad paint "dirt". If you brush it onto the tracks a small portion at a time and then wipe it away, it leaves dirt on the tracks but takes if off the pads. Once I figure out how to add pictures from my phone I'll post it to show you.

I have a lot of sanded tile grout to use for dust pigments but the problem for me is the color. I bought nutmeg color which works well for dark mud. I think I want to use a light color dust though I just can't buy anything yet.

Here is the latest update to this build. I still need dust effects if I can figure out what to do, YouTube is not helping and I cannot seem to find anything lol...

Nice clean build Ricky, have you thought about a pin wash or filter to bring out the fine detail ?

Rookie I'm still new at this and I'm not sure of what your talking about as far as pin washing and a filter. Could you explain it to me please?
