Welfare has been set up as a trap.  I have known for quite some time that if you try to get off of it, they punish you.  For example:  Say I am on welfare and decide that I want to work to get some extra money.  So I get a job and earn $10,000.  What does welfare do?  Cut your welfare check back by $15,000.   They should cut your check back by $5,000 to encourage you to work.
