Name of Build: ISD "Averger"

Kit manufacturer: AMT/Ertl

Scale: 1/4222

Description
Imperium II - class star destroyer "Avenger" served as a personal cruiser of Darth Vader during the events shown in the forth episode of Saga. It was exactly that ship that captured princes Leia's "Blockade Runner", and from its magnificent appearance on the screen in the lights of laser bolts and blinks of deflector shields have the story of Star Wars begun.
An old kit by AMT/Ertl, released in 1989, served as a basis for this project. It was developed by adding resin conversion kits by Arvey Products and Commander Models, along with various aviation, armor and small-scale fleet kit parts.
The stand for the model was made from a solid piece of wood, with plastic panels and parts from Revell's Millennium Falcon for sidewalls detalization added. A mirror was installed on top of the stand for easier enjoying the ship's lower hull details.
Revell and Tamiya paints have been used for painting. The model also sustained a wash with MiG washes, was covered with AK-Interactive pigments and a layer of Pebeo finish.
Various fiber optics with diameter of 0.25-1 mm were used for lighting thee ship, being attached to the total of 25 LEDs. 7 more LEDs were usedfor lighting all the engines. 10 smd- LEDs serve as spots on the sidewalls. All the lighting is powered up by a 5V source. It's connector is attached to the base near the holding tube, which provides powering wires all the way through into the model.
As a litle addition, two inscale models of a captured princess Leia's ship and a hiding from the radars Millennium Falcon, located behind the destroyers bridge, were added to the model with the help of magnets. They were produced by Commander Models.
This project took me 6 months to complete with a total of 540 hours of work.
