Some photos from this years Blizzcon (Blizcon? whatever). Some really amazing models this year.

My apologies for some of the blurry photos, the lighting was atrocious in there and I was shooting everything with my phone.

The link to the full album is below, but here are a few of the highlights and my favorites.

This ship was in a glass case making photos difficult but it won everything there. The full hanger was detailed out and lit up. Was VERY impressive, I wish I could have got come close up shots of the details, there was nothing left to add to this baby.

This F-16 D Block 50 took home top hardware in the Aircraft cat, including a best in show for Aircraft.

The Terminator skeleton made an appearance and won best Misc model. This thing was a monster at probably 8 feet tall. The base had ambient lighting, and would kick out smoke everyone once in a while.

A fun dio that I quite enjoyed. Very creative and done really well.

These two were painted EXCEPTIONALLY. I couldn't stop looking at the eyes. Incredibly lifelike.

This ship was REALLY cool as it's a paper model. The first ship I've seen in paper, and it was very impressived. It reminded me of Fruit. One of these days he's going to build one of those things and show us all..., just messin' with ya frut..., kinda ;)

Lots of good armor in the album too with a couple of stand outs. Not sure who took home prizes for the armor. There were a lot of autos that caught my eye too, and I'm not really into auto at all. Some amazingly detailed bikes and cars today!
I think they said there were just over 500 models entered in the contest today, so I would say that's a pretty good show.

Hope you enjoy the photos. I had a great time today, and I think all that participated should be congratulated. It's nice seeing so many people out there participating in art.

If you want to see what I hauled in from the vendors today I'll post it here (http://www.scalemodeladdict.com/forum/index.php/topic,4581.0.html).

Oh! Conventions, lovely!

Awesome photos Myke, I just spent a good half hour going over the pictures - and I must say, there are really stunning entries!

And that ship - Crusaders, Tomcats and Hawkeye's - oh my! ;D Serious congrats need to be in order for the builder of that fully decked out carrier.

I would've mistook that Terminator for a real one :D

The eyes on that bust are show stopping and definitely hypnotic. I was scrolling down the page and the first thing that caught my 'eyes' were those eyes !

Really cool paper model! My gosh it is very refreshing to see at least one at a modeling conventions! That CV looks to be a JSC Model? I can't make out the hand-writing, but seems to me it's an old JSC kit. It must have been a labor of love to make those 33 aircraft from paper - I wouldn't even dream of attempting it! Send my pat on the back to him!

(Myke, I'm working on one right now - though it's in the Junior's subforum and not the Aircraft subforum, as I felt the Junior's area needed to be beefed up in content! Not a lot of juniors are posting, and hopefully with build threads rolling in that area, there'll be more juniors! http://www.scalemodeladdict.com/forum/index.php/topic,4786.0.html).

One thing that stuck me was - Myke, how come you didn't enter one of your models in to Blizcon? That Blackhawk you made last year is a prime example! Surely your Blackhawk deserves as much showcasing as it can get - I mean, who wouldn't want to see that? But hey, it seems you walked off with some loot - loot which I will go check out in the Stash thread!

Yea, that paper model was huge, I thought it was plastic from a couple tables down. I can't imagine how long that must have taken.

Sent you a PM with the answer to your question.
