Hi chaps
The Irish Model Soldier Society show was held this weekend ( 25/26th may ) in Dublin's Collin Barracks ,A fantastic venue for a show it was too !!!
Unfortunately I could only get down on the Sunday this year ,but I sent a few pieces down on Friday to be entered in the comp (more on that later )
It was a great day ,and nice to meet up with a LOT of friends both old and new .As for models ! well ,there was some excellent work on display by some very talented guys ,The competition was really tight and I wouldnt of wanted to be judging !
The day was topped of for me by taking home a few more gongs and the show Special Award !!! yes ...Im still grinning
Pics !! ,sorry some of the pics are not great ,I forgot to lift my camera so these were taken with the mobile phone ...duh .
This first one (Phantom) made me want to pack my models back in the boxes ..lol the detail in this is fantastic and my pics do it no justice at all ,the rest are in no particular order and is just a selection of what was there ....
Best of Show went to John Schley for his box dio 'An Empire Fallen' which depicts Napoleon in his carraige ,the figure is a 90mm conversion ,but my pic doesnt show just how good this piece is !! If you attended Euro Militaire last year you would have seen it ,the piece recieved a Gold there and was in the running for Best of Show .
Finally , my winnings for the weekend
Commended ...Dolly 2cv
Bronze ...Tunisia Spitfire
Silver ...FW190 A-8
AK Interactive Award (best weathering) ...Dolly 2cv
The book is also signed by Mig Jimenez ...a great prize by itself .
So thats it ,another great day ,thanks to all that attended and took the time to chat ,I had a blast
