These a few shots are for the "Detail Guys" who like authenticity when building WW II aircraft. Good Kodachrome shots from the '40s are sometimes hard to find. Some were War Department staged shots with factory fresh aircraft, some were "in Theater" shots with wear and tear on aircraft. Michael O'Leary from Air Classics magazine has done a great job in publishing great color photos from WW II. An excellent book depicting in service aircraft in color is "Fighter Command" by the late Jeffrey Ethell published in 1991. At least 100 clear color photos of our favorite aircraft. Actual exhaust stains, odd color schemes, a variety of chromate colors, etc.
