Honestly…. I think that's an overkill for pre shading. Too many flourescent colors is pretty unusual. Definitely not the norm for most hobbyists.

I prefer to do it the simple way (as does most hobbyists) - using black paint. At least you're getting it done a lot faster than using 5 different colors.
