Flamethrower Effects

[128mm Tank Killer]

I just got An Airfix 1/72 Croc. I was wondering if anyone has simulated flames from the projector. I have worked with simulated smoke but not flames. Any help would be appreciated.

Found a picture and a You Tube video on this...wire, cotton, super glue and six colors of paint. I'll probably start this project in the summer...
