I couldn’t wait any longer to see how the lighting would look with the aztecs so I cracked on with the details around the captains yaught, painted the window recesses on the lower surface and painted the outer rim of the saucer

Then the whole lot got misted over with a light blue/grey to blend the tones slightly and give it a more blue-ish colour in general. The window masks are trickier to remove than I thought, took a couple of hours just to get half of the top surface masks off...! Quite a few have totally disappeared under the layers of paint and quite a few pulled up a bit more paint than they should, leaving slightly oversized windows. I’ll just have to go back over and touch up any bad spots, no biggie.
