to a point .

Usually my pix have been cropped  , but if not , I have to drop the horizontal to below 6000  for the forum to accept and resize them .

I just reduce the horizontal to 4000 , maintain aspect ratio  , and the forum resizes to something like 1200  across .

The horizontal limit is somewhere above 5000
