Hi everyone, I just now ordered my first boat kit. A Los Angeles class submarine. I will be building this kit to replicate the last submarine my father was on when he retired from the navy and then giving it to him as a Christmas gift.. I have found a couple pictures of it but nothing of great detail. I am wondering if there is a database or something similar that has the markings of boats listed for this purpose? Any help would be wonderful.
Thank you all

hey saw this and since i was on a la class thought id reply. normal there are no markings on the boat at all except for depth markings on the nose and the rudder. although i have seen the ships number painted on the side of the sail. this is however no longer a common practice.

I agree the ones that use to visit the Canadian ports had no visable markings except for depth markings on the front and back

Markings on subs are few. On top of that many of the smaller markings will be invisible in the commercial scales of 1/700 or 1/350.
Go with what you'll find in the LA Class kit of Dragon MOdels. They are good.
Have fun and keep modelling!
