?Nice! But you did a small mistake with those armour shields. Wrap them.
The shields above the wheels?Sorry! I just meant that they are turned with a wrong side out.
Yeah! Those armour shields. The shields above the wheels?
The shields above the wheels?
The shields above the wheels?
I would throw them away and cut some other from 0.3 or 0.2 mm polystyrene sheet. The shields above the wheels?
Well that certainly sucks.I would throw them away and cut some other from 0.3 or 0.2 mm polystyrene sheet.
I just did dust effects. I haven't been feeling the mud vibe lately.Nice, clean (Where's the mud?!) build. BTW: I like clean armor builds. I'm a retired geologist, I've seen all the mud and dirt I care to!
The panel must have popped off the hinge during handling. Yes, there is slight gap that is more evident when you blow the pic up. I saw the thread about the wheels. I actually did quite a bit of wear using graphite and some metal shining through on the wheels using metal base coat and then wearing off the top coat paint wear. I also used graphite on the chevrons. Does it match the picture? No but that wasn't my reference photo either. Not every Jagdpanther was at the same level of wear and as you said " it looks factory fresh" so I wouldn't expect it to be worn to that degree in that situation. Old photos can also be misleading, light reflection tends to make the metal wear look more prominent and to be honest, of the old photos I found none looked near as bad as what was shared on the forum. My goal was a Jagdpanther that had some wear, road dust, but was in otherwise good shape. I hadn't intended any backward panels or gaps tho!The painting looks very sharp, like a newly delivered vehicle(like a Tamiya house-style finish). Apart from the issue with the Schürzen being flipped there are a couple of other bits that caught my eye. Is the dislocated AA armour panel meant to be battle damage? Also there seems to be a gap in the top of the right side rear superstructure joint.View attachment 193605View attachment 193606
The tracks would benefit from a bit of basic wear like bright contact points etc. We also discussed the rubbing of the track guides on the inner road wheels leaving a bright rim on these in another Panther thread.![]()
I realize it is probably a bit late to look at some of this stuff but maybe next Jagdpanther perhaps.
best regards
