... so I've found myself drawn into the many examples of dioramas, from the simple to the cinematic.
TBH, since getting back into the hobby, I have been avoiding the question: "to dio or not to dio?"
For various reasons, one of them being just focussing my time and learning on building the vehicles!
What I didn't expect though, was to be so engaged by the stories... military, technical and human.
Just building for myself, those stories live happily in my mind.
With maybe a few clues, personal articles, markings, paint schemes and weathering.
But since joining this forum, I've been impressed by how dios might help focus those stories that are in my head, to be shared with other modelers and viewers.
Is it because they provide context, and a point of view... and to some extent, make the builds more accessible to a wider group of people?
I also find it interesting to compare what I am starting to perceive to be differences in the approach to dios, depending on scale and subject matter: figures, ships, cars, trucks, military vehicles, aircraft, fantasy and space...
