Name of Build: BSG-47 Battlestar SOLARIA
Kit manufacturer: Moebius
Scale: 1/4105
Description
Starting with the Moebius Galactica kit, I used a combination of Aves Apoxie Sculpt and a texture stamp to give her much more complete armor.
I used the photoetch set from ParaGrafix to add girders to the inside of the flight pods and to get the "SOLARIA' and "BS-47" name plates for the hull.
The model was lit with LEDs that run to a power supply under the base.
She was painted with a base coat of black, followed by a coat of aluminum.
These were supplemented by a black wash that was put over the entire hull. The excess wash was wiped off with a damp cloth.
"Battle damage" was done by using the armor plates surfaces as a guide and drybrushing with Vallejo Smoke.
The base was made from some packing material I had spare, using the kit base for a plaque.
