Battered & Bruised Phoenix Rocket Launches, Eats Dirt

Headline pretty much says it all.

Last weekend marked the final flight of our much-abused AIM-54 Phoenix rocket from Estes, and we had about five cameras rolling to capture its untimely demise. This model was notorious for weathercocking in the best of conditions ... and that was before some necessary modifications and CG alterations. Ended up with a pretty sweet video, we think, but poor Phoenix will never fly again.

Too bad about the loss but... the video is pretty cool !

did you find out, why it went off course ? i.e. the Camera port ?? drag ? or something came off ?
the rocket after launch ?
