Badger Khrome vs. Velocity?

Hey guys, I'm wanting to get a fine detail airbrush, something that can paint smaller lines and targets than my Badger Patriot. I was looking at both these, which seem to be touted as detail airbrushes.

Aside from price, with the Velocity being $76 and the Khrome being $130 on Amazon, I'm not sure what the practical differences are. The Velocity looks like a bit of a different design, while the Khrome looks very similar to the Patriot.

Anyone have any experience with either of these or any recommendations?

Thanks!

I have the velocity and I love it. I've had mine 6 months now. I also use the patriot for my workhorse.

WGC recently did an interview with Ken of Badger and I recall they specifically spoke about the differences / what each airbrush model is aimed at - it's on youtbe.

Krome = win Comes with 2 needle's .3 and .5 i believe and fittings for both, i love mine

They are the exact same construction. Needles and nozzles are one in the same in fact. The Velocity has the original "gun metal" finish, the Krome of course is plated and has the plastic grip at the air valve on the underside. Primary reason to spend the extra on the the Krome, other than its easier to see down in the paint chamber when cleaning, is that it includes both fine and ultra fine assemblies (needle, nozzle, regulator). The cut away handle is none-functional (purely for "the look") since you cannot actually pull the needle out without removing the handle anyway (because it by definition cannot protrude out the back past the set-stop).

Ok that's good info. I rather like the look of the velocity, and it seems to be a specialist detail airbrush, the khrome looks like it is more versatile, but I'm already using the patriot as my general brush.
