What quality control hit or miss? Says who? Who's telling you this claim? A lot of guys over at modelcarkits forum still use it, myself included. Never had any issues with their paint line. I love MCW a paint line.

Yes, lacquer is hotter but it doesn't hurt plastic, primer coat or not. No different than Tamiya lacquer paint line. But it does sprays down really nice though. Don't be put off because it's lacquer paint. If it's the smell you're concerned with, wear a N-95 respirator mask.
