Hi everone in SMA land..So got a very slow start to this one..Still doig research on it. I didn't know their original design was based on a design by a guy in Michigan, I think it was MI..Sorry if the state is wrong..Anywho, The molding is crisp and many parts are super thin. I luv the PE, they have packaged it with plastic sheet on both sides to protect it but leaving the bottom one on will hopefully prevent the occational PE flight that means not finding that pc till after you need it..So let's get to the pics then..So far the proof of start time/date, PE gen stuff..Since I'm still researching started on the figue,the one weak part of this model,,I don't care for it..May omit it all together but will complete it anyway, have to fee the habit!LOL..

OK so progress has been slow the past few days..Decided to replace the molded springs for wound springs. Worked on the dash and steering wheel. A little bit done on the door and a few other bits..Ref materials for the interiors is so far non existant, found a B&W photo with the door open but the interior wasn't really visible..So I'm goig to take some artistic assumptions and go forward..

OK the dash, still have to figure out what the control was for the throttle but till then. Still have some weathering to do it..

Thanx for the remarks...So finished the dash but still researching the throttle setup..started on the props. Assembled the dash but still working out the controls..

Thanx Grendels,,punn intended!!LOL...So very little done over the past days..Research,work,,etc..So the only thing completed so far is the pully..Carved it from sprue on the dremel...

A bit better amount done today..the interior walls are done and about 75% of the weathering is done..Installed the rear bulkhead after weathering it..Weathered the floor and door..So the completed work today..Thanx

Thanx!! Got a bit more done but my back is out so doing as much as I can with this time..Finished weathering the interior walls used heavy thread for the steering control wire..(Unsure what is actually used..)used it for both the steering wheel to geared pully as well...Finished the interior pc's with paints and weathered all but still have to weather the tank more..Found several photos and some were painted and some were not, bare metal..so will see..Finished the vaneer on the roof next will be paint and weathering for that pc...Thanx

A bit more done today but progress is slow due to injury..Finished applying vaneers to exterior and 1st round of weathering to the exterior..Also finished 1st round of whitewashes. It's really a nice little kit..The plan is work on the engine next over the next few days...Thanx for looking..

AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!! I'VE BEEEN VIOLATED!!!!! THE CARPET MONSTER ATTACKED LAST NIGHT! IT WAS AWFUL..MY DOG WAS BEHIND ME AND I DIDN'T KNOW IT HE BARKED,PARTS WENT FLYING EVERYWHERE AND THE WORST PART WAS A HANDFUL WERE PE!!! uuuggg.After 3 hours finally found the last pc...well I thought it was the last part..so I had to fabricate a new one...after another hour and nothing..I'm sure I'll find it a week or so after the project is done.....

So after the Tigger incident and parts recovered continued on the engine. Based with natural steel then various colors to represent residues,heat fx and weathering then hit the cooling fins with graphite then to mute that used a dark wash. The exhaust pipes, to simulate the heat fx started with bronze,yellow and browns then blue inks and powders over a natural metal finish. The magnito lines looked to thick so made new ones from .020 wire.

Finally started on the skis and the majority of the PE, there are 56 pc's that go on the skis..It's been years since I handled PE but once started it was great to see the details that the PE has and produces..
1st the assembly area set-up..

OK, so some more progress.The engine is installed,suspension pc's in place and framework for engine..Skis done but still need a bit more weathering...
Left the ends on the spru to maintain alignment while installing the springs..

Well it looks like were on the home stretch....Great little kit and the issue being the carpet monster rather than the kit...Will finish this one up with 2 sets of pic's.....Just want thank and congratulate everyone for the outstanding work that has been produced..Every project done has been enjoyable to watch and enjoy following..So again thanks to everyone for an outstanding experience......
