Groovy, I've been using using http://www.startrekpropauthority.com/ as a general reference for real life colors/look, and comparing the D to the others, it does appear much more grey than the others (except perhaps TOS). 

Looking forward to the next post/video, for whatever reason the D never really 'popped' for me on TV, but seeing it on the big screen in Generations, it was a beaut.  Shame they stopped using real models after first contact..
