This project is for a Sharkmouth Group Build on another site. I'll be doing the aircraft depicted on the boxart.

So here we go, enjoy!

The F-89 Scorpion gained a number of firsts in aviation history:

First jet aircraft designed from the start to be an all-weather interceptor
First aircraft to carry the Falcon guided missile operationally
First to achieve a hit on an airborne target using a Falcon w/ armed warhead
First aircraft to launch air-to-air weapon with live atomic warhead
First jet to land on a frozen sea
First aircraft designed to carry an all-rocket armament

The Scorpion was designed to be able to intercept Soviet piston-engined bombers in the class of the Tupolev Tu-4 aka Boeing B-29 Superfort, which explains the large amount of rockets carried on the wingtips.

Nice update and very informing about the scorpion, welcome to the herd!!

No easy feat....since the Falcon was a very poor excuse for an air to air missile!!

Kit is looking good!!

And the Air2 Genies are where the ol' joke about "Close only counts in horseshoes and Nukes" as it was unguided.

Really nice up date here, you're making that construction look easy.

Nice bit of correction through scratch building you got going on there. Can't wait to see the next installment.

Not at all! I wouldn't post it if I did mind. It's really a good tip to add to your bag of tricks I think.

Thanks for all the kind words from everyone. I'm hoping to get it primed and black coated by Monday. I'll be sure to continue the thread with further progress as it happens.
