This is in the DIORAMA category. :D
It is the 1/4222 Ertl Star Destroyer built up as the Errant Venture in all it's glory. For those of you unfamiliar with the ship, it was a captured Star Destroyer converted into a smuggler's battleship, base of operations, space dock, casino, Jedi Praxis, you name it. This picture is most relevant to the type of build I'm planning.

In the stash are some parts from AMP Models (new bridge tower), some 3D parts (deflector domes) and some possible replacement engine nozzles kindly mastered by Stefan Hacker and cast by Jimi Glancy.

Here are some of my notes for the build, too.

- side hangars in trenches at notches
- side docking ports w/ tube extension & cables? (w/ spotlights)
- billboards by hangar entries (illuminated)
- gravity dome in left/top
- Darksaber laser embedded in right/top (illuminated emitter, RGB LED)
- extra deflector domes on bridge module
- observation domes on Promenade & dorsal hulls
- extra turrets/ accurate main turrets
- extra communications arrays on bridge module and nose
- pods and modules off ventral and dorsal hulls
- LOTS of fiber optics
- LED engines
- larger, expanded hangar bay entrance (taller)
- sand down raised lines & re-engrave hull panels using my own scribing guide decals
- accurize side trench & trim
- in-scale scratch built docked ships

Markings ideas:
- red tip nose panels; ¼; decals or paint?
- Terrik logos
- blast damage/ carbon scoring

Here are some sketches

As you can probably tell by these photos, I have a LOT of work to do in the next month and a half!!!

Yeah that's insane. You should also check out Solanders ErtL SD build over in Sci Fi that was killer also.

You really have got youre work cut out!

I can see why you chose this it will look amazing

ill be watching this with interest

This is going to be great to see this legendary EU ship finally receiving it's scale-model form.
Will be following this one with a great interest, Nicholas!

God I love plastic. :)

I do NOT love sanding it. :( But it had to be done. Got the bottom done this weekend and some decals in preparation for scribing applied, too.

I've been scribing away today, too! I know she looks a little dirty but that's just to see how the lines are going...

Put in the turret bays! Thanks James!!!!

Added a little armor paneling here and there

Used the scribing guide to cut new add on sections

Oh! And the first huge freighter that will be attached! This is something like a 300+m long freighter. It has a little magnet on the side and I'll put a couple LEDs in it, too...

Nah, it'll be sane. Just mind-blowingly sane. ;D

I'll have just a little update tomorrow. A little bit every day helps...

BUT I forgot that I had a Hasegawa Scriber!!!! WAAAAY better than the damn dull Testors one I've been using. :( Lines are much more crisp AND they slice through the decal templates really cleanly. It's also good because the plastic that this kit is made with is shyte...

Spent another hour or so getting the guides applied and playing with a different scribing tool!! Through trial and error I’ve found that the Hasegawa tool is much sharper and therefore cuts through the decal guide much more smoothly. It also scribes the shytie Ertl plastic much better. Some spare decal guide pieces were also used so I can do some scribing on the armor banding. A little primer always helps to show the fresh lines, too.

And for reference sake, I tossed in few nice images of the studio model…

The coolness factor of this is extremely high! :)
And I like that black magnet thingy You've found - resembles a bit the space clipper from Odyssey 2001 to me.

Yeah, this gonna be extremely Kewl!!!!
What an undertaking though. :/
I'm sure you'll show her who's boss! ;D ;D
BTW, I have never seen such clear pix of the studio model!
Thanx for sharing!

 You scared me there, Nick. For a second I thought those were pics of your model! Man that studio model is out of this world! But it is humongous.

Big fan of your work Nick. This is shaping up to be a contender. Loving it mate.
