Hi Guys

On with another project, this time its the Academy M7 Priest which I will be showing as a British Desert version.

I also fancied a full stowage job so went for the Resicast Priest stowage set to really load this up

It's gone together well so far, there were a lot of ejection marks in prominent places which needed dealing with but apart from that the kits has gone together well so far. The gun is built moveable which will help further in the build when setting the dio up.

I'm still not 100% on the base yet, got to keep researching but it will definetley be sandy!

Heres the pic's so far, everything is still in sub assemblies at the moment so the interior will be easier to paint and weather

Re: 1/35 British / French Desert Priest

Hi Guys

Just filling time before the competition starts and instead of starting a new kit I though I would revisit a shelf queen that's been sitting around for a while.

The reason I lost interest is that I had over challenged myself with the sand base and 5 figures, so to get this one back on the road I have had a change of plan.

The figures are gone, the sand base is gone and so is the British element! Now I'm going for a French version (cuz that was the other kit decal option!) parked on the side of a French road late summer 1944.

I finished off the last build items of the kit then went with Vallejo Olive Drab, with some highlights and lowlights for a simple colour modulation look.

The paint went on fine but I wasn't quite happy with the colour so I applied a few AK green filters to bring the hue where I wanted it

Then as I want to practice with my oil weathering it had a first coat of tan oils to start the process.

I'll leave this for a few days to dry before the next of a few coats of oils. I really want to get the practice in on my weathering instead of being lazy and rushing things. Also I will go to work with the pigments after too.

Hi Guys

Got some more done on this dio, added another couple of layers of oils, and a few layers of pigments and washes on top. I also started on the base including screwing the tank to the base to get the tracks to conform to the terrain, hiding the screw with long grass and dusting it with the airbrush to tie it in to the tank weathering. Still plenty to do yet including painting the extensive stowage set and detailing the tank and base. I had to use 2 part epoxy to glue the rubber band tracks to the upper road wheels, otherwise they just floated above the wheels, and they are probably one or two links to long to be honest, but can't do anything about it now.

I'm quite happy so far, the pigments have gone well, still not getting the results I want with the oils yet so I'll have to keep practicing!

Chris, the priest was used by the free French army towards the end of the war. Something a little different!

Hi Guys

Talk about finishing in the nick of time, just got this one completed ready for the BSC!

I have mainly been painting up the stowage but also played around more with the pigment weathering around the Priest.

Very nice!!!
How did you make the cover for the machine gun?
I debated on doing something like that but decided it was to hard to do (a lack of skill ::))
Anyways your build looks really nice!

It's beyond my skill too zappa, the mg cover came as part of the resicast stowage kit.!

Thanks for commenting

Never the less the diorama looks killer!
And I shall look into that resicast option ;D thanks for that!
