    A pair of Enterprises

Yep, that lip is supposed to be there, granted it's a little exaggerated, it's supposed to have a lip. http://www.starshipmodeler.com/trek/lakota-35.jpg On the rear, it shouldn't be puttied and sanded flat, but slightly beveled instead. http://www.starshipmodeler.com/trek/lakota-22.jpg There...

    A pair of Enterprises

The Acreation decals for this ship are pretty good, but have a couple of issues. The three teal bands going around the saucer, are a little too short. They leave about 1/4" at the end. I corrected the issue by cutting three small strips from the decals they give you for the warp engines and...

My first show build: AMT Enterprise-E First Contact

That's looking awesome! I really want to build another one of these. One tip I can offer for doing your unlit windows, is using a gel pen. It's way fastest, cleanest way I've been able to do them. White ones work too for painting lit up windows, if you weren't actually lighting it.

My first show build: AMT Enterprise-E First Contact

That's looking pretty great! Another thing that will really help even out the lighting, is when you put the decals on, it will act as a diffuser and all the windows will be visible from any angle.

My first show build: AMT Enterprise-E First Contact

You're making good progress. But just so you know, flat white is better for evenly distributing light inside of a model. Where the windows on this kit is so tiny, it might be worth your while to experiment a little bit. I personally wouldn't spend the money on special paints to spray through an...

Classic MPC C-3PO and R2-D2 uber detail build: Completed!

Re: Classic MPC C-3PO and R2-D2 uber detail build You're doing some great work man. When I scribed the panel lines on my colonial viper, I used a dental pick. I got a set of them at ace hardware for 10 bucks. The trick with scribing, is doing several light passes. Label maker tape works as a...

    Enterprise D - from "Generations"

Tick tock, he mentioned earlier in the thread when I asked him. It's a custom mix, and that it's easier to add drops of blue to white, than it is a bunch of white to some blue. I feel this thread could use a well deserved bump. Any updates?

AMT 1/1400 Scale Clear Enterprise D Model Build With LED Lighting

Well at least you can do a saucer crash diorama like in generations.

Newbie and the AMT 1/1400 Clear Enterprise D

Just put the window decals on the bare plastic, drill all your windows, and then sand off the rest of the decals after you're done drilling. I've been thinking of picking up another one of those ships.

Newbie and the AMT 1/1400 Clear Enterprise D

The enterprise D is a bit tricky to light, because you need to grind out material in the solid nacelle pylons to run wires to the nacelles. But other than that, it shouldn't be too hard. If you know how to do lights and whatnot anyways. It's something that seems to be becoming more obtainable to...

Newbie and the AMT 1/1400 Clear Enterprise D

The model isn't too hard of a build, but clear plastic tends to be a bit more brittle than opaque. For a beginner, I would definitely use decals over painting the azteks though.
