Where do you buy your kits and supplies?

I try to stimulate the local economy as much as possible so I buy almost all my kits and pretty much all my supplies from the LHS. The big reason for this is because they carry a wide variety of tools and such and carry a full line of Model Master paints (both enamel and acrylic), my favorite...

    First attempt...

In terms of them repopping a kit as a different variant and not changing parts, yes, but generally, no. Many of their older kits such as the B-26 are known for their accurate dimensions. They may lack on details but overall most of the kits are pretty accurate. The F-15E is a fine kit and was...

    1/48 Helldiver SB2C-4 Accurate Miniatures.

The kit was originally released under ProModeler and Revell has re-released it under the ProModeler banner.

    Revell B-26 Marauder 1/48

Best weathering job I've seen in a while 8) Cant wait to see her done!

    Revell B-26 Marauder 1/48

To be honest, it doesn't distract from the overall appearance, I'm just a bomber nut and notice those kind of things. It would difficult with the rudder because of the tail number, so it probably wouldn't pay to risk messing that up. You achieved a good degree in variability in the paint...

    Revell B-26 Marauder 1/48

Looks great! 8) It may be too late to do anything about, but one thing I did notice is that the control surfaces wouldn't be susceptible to paint chipping since they were fabric covered. Otherwise the finish is top notch.

    Revell B-26 Marauder 1/48

Nice job on a challenging paint scheme. Marauders really got beat up, and the weathering on OD over gray versions is just tremendous. That's why when I get to building mine I'll be doing a natural metal bird. Looking good so far, should look even better when the decals come on 8)

    B-17F Nose guns /Memphis Belle

The nose the Belle had was somewhat common, at least considering how many different configurations the F had. Unfortunately there aren't too many pictures of F nose interiors out there except in books. For the ammo boxes, I know at least one was located where they were in the G, right under...

Kit Manufacturers to Stay Away from?

This is one of those things you're gonna have to find out for yourself. Everyone seems to have a different opinion on manufacturers. Me? I buy from alot of the main ones such as Revell/Monogram, Hasegawa, Tamiya, Accurate Miniatures and most recently, AMT/Ertl. Every manufacturer has been bad...

Revell F-15E strike Eagle 1/48 scale build

Nice choice. The Revell kit is still one of the better 1/48 jets on the market.

    1/48 Hasegawa P-40E

That's what I did, assemble everything before joining the halves. This eliminated the steps but some of the panel lines still don''t line up quite right. They're close enough though. I buttoned things up and am working on sanding and rescribing now.

    1/48 Hasegawa P-40E

This is the Hasegawa kit that is royal pain in the butt because of how they planned to make various variants and thus cut up the fuselage to accomodate that. Needless to the say the fit is not the greatest. However, the detail is excellent. Here's what I've done so far. I added an Eduard...

Aftermarket highly detailed Cockpit for Revel 1/48 F-14 Tomcat

What variant are you looking for? True Details still makes a resin pit for the F-14A by Revell

    1/48 Revell B-17G

Great looking build Adam ;) I did notice one thing though...the tail numbers are missing.

    Accurate after-market decals

Yup, depends on what you're looking for. My experience has been great with Eagle Strike and Aeromaster, but I've had accuracy issues with Superscale. Each sheet varies so you have to decide for yourself and do research first.

    M4A1 Sherman newb build.

Yea, thats how the .50 is mounted. The pintle (its mount) could be rotated 360 degrees. The entire commander's hatch (cupola) could be rotated as well and since the pintle attaches to the cupola, the .50 wouldn't always be at the rear, depending on the rotation of the cupola. Also, the tank...

    M4A1 Sherman newb build.

I got Voyager's PE set since it was the cheapest I found and I'm going with option C for the markings. I got a stowage set from Legend and also some Tamiya figures so I can make a little mini dio with it. I'll get a thread going one of these days
