    Sprue Brothers aquires Great Models

Best part of the Great Models site imo is the links to reviews, pictures of the box contents, and links to associated products for the one you are browsing, ie update sets, decals etc. Sprue Bros does not do those things, that I am aware of. Maybe they will going forward.

    Sprue Brothers aquires Great Models

Hopefully the keep the Great Models layout as I really like it, though it seems unlikely. Mergers/buyouts are not always a good thing.

    Moebius is gone

As a former reader of Heavy Metal magazine, this is sad news. I highly recommend this documentary on his work: Moebius Redux http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1029340/

Finished Builds for War Wheels here !!

Handle: jdog71 My unfinished Quad Gun Tractor..warts, snapped off sideview mirrors and all... ::) This one got away from me in many ways. It was a fun build, but I lost focus about 3/4 of the way through. I ended up weathering it a bit more but these were the last pics I took before that.

Happy 50th Birthday to Bassist Cliff Burton !!

I've always thought Cliff was the soul of that band. He was the one who brought all the Lovecraft stuff into their songs (The Thing That Should Not Be, Call of Ktulu etc). I'm a huge horror fan, so I always appreciated that. Not to mention, he was a phenomenal, unique bass player. Master of...

    Millenium Falcon...guitar?!

This joins together two of my favorite things: (other than chocolate and peanut butter) guitars and Star Wars. The maker of this beast is a better craftsman than guitarist but...still pretty cool ;D http://gizmodo.com/5884278/millennium-falcon-guitar-guarantees-you-a-spot-in-the-cantina-band

    Show us your mancave(s)!

The newest addition to my man cave: a Paasche HSSB-22-16 spray booth. I mounted a 12" fluorescent fixture inside. Works like a charm. My man cave is a bit 'cave-ier' than I'd prefer...old house, lots of crumbling mortar in the basement there. My next house will have a finished basement ;D

    modeling injurys

A few months ago, I was sitting at my portable bench in my living room hand painting some small parts. I had a small piece in a pair of pliers. The piece shot out of the pliers, and hit me square in the eye, causing me to jump back. While jumping back I knocked an entire bottle of thinner over...

I built this for my brother in law for Christmas. It was fun to change it up and work on something larger scale than I'm used to. My bro in law really liked it. When I showed a picture of it to my dad, he was convinced that it was real...always a bonus ;)
