Trying to work out the most effective way to glue a part perfectly perpendicular to another piece; for example, a rod end glued to a disc (that would resemble an axle and wheel).

I am looking to replicate a working radar screen (approximately 1/35 scale) and a sliding door mechanism. I have little experience in robotics or motors. I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction about what type of motor, servo, or actuator I need to be looking at. Thanks so much.
