    Very nice and clean builds.

Deviating from how the aircraft should be?

I use instructions more for suggestions than following them as a rule. Its a hobby, feel free to do whatever makes you happy to the model.

What to do with old built model kits?

Get a cat or two, or a Labrador puppy and give him a tennis ball. Better yet, take care of a three year old and let him have access to models. Those seemed to have solved my problem.

Plymouth Belvedere / Adam-12 Police Car

Makes sense. The 67 through 69 seem as elusive as finding a model of a AMC Matador.

Plymouth Belvedere / Adam-12 Police Car

What Belvedere kits are you using? I can't see anything for 67 or 68. I thought JoHan made one, but I think its the Fury I'm recalling.

    Wessex HAS3 1/48 ITALERI

The molds in that kit are fantastic. I look forward to seeing it painted. I too started as a draftsman with the idea of going into architecture because I liked rendering and the model building process the most. Then computers took over and it wasn't fun anymore. Don't get me wrong, the...

    Overall Paint Strategy-When, what how

To add to Laurie's fine advice on laying out masking tape, I use a tip I got from Fine Scale Modeler a few years ago. After laying down the masking tape, run a brush of clear paint along the seam that will be painted to that you are assured a perfect seal. I have been using this technique on...

    Organizing Sprue

My newest one has been a little Dr. Evil. He takes parts and hides them on me. He also takes tools and other items. I think he had a pack rat somewhere in his family tree.

    1941 WARHAWK

That was always a nice kit. You did a great job on it with Wild Bill and the display.

    Organizing Sprue

I need to someday use some sort of organizer for my sprue. My current practice is to lay them out all over the room and then pray the cat doesn't come and re-organize them.

    Trumpeter?

I've built a number of Trumpeters 1/700 ships and have the Texas in my cue to build. They are superb kits but are not for a novice builder. The engineering of the superstructures tend to have some scale issues between the 1/350 and 1/700 kits and this presents some fit problems. The 1/700...

USS North Carolina - Trumpeter 1/700

Ya, they are fiddly. I finally picked up a PE bending tool. It and a razor blade work well with flattening out PE railings. I also use multiple types of tweezers and found that using white Elmers glue works the best for attaching the PE during the initial installation then going back later...

USS North Carolina - Trumpeter 1/700

How are you installing the photo-etch rails and what type of glue are you using?

    USS Arizona

For and out of the box build, you did very well. That kit brings back a lot of memories.
