    Nice

    Hasegawa 1:48 P-38J

I can see it in the top photo on the nose and the top engine panels. It certainly makes a difference and looks good.

    Atlantis Space Missile Kit

I have come close to ordering that kit on more than one occasion because I worked in both the Titan II and Minuteman II missile systems. Titan missiles at Little Rock AFB and after going through the shut down of the Titan missile system at LRAFB in the 80's it was off to Malmstrom AFB and the...

    Howdy from Mid-MO

You could check Hobbylinc and Spruebrothers as well.

    ATOM Paint Reference

I've been testing Migs mettalics for aircraft and the good thing is they spray at low pressures and look good. What I don't care for is the feel of the paint after it's on the model. It's got a tacky feel to it and after some handling it looks like small dots in places where the paint has come...

    Hasegawa 1:48 P-38J

Looks good. Looking forward to seeing how the black and white gloss works under the silver.

    Getting back into modeling.

I put all my models in a dehydrator after painting. I just use a small one I had for making deer jerky. Not very expensive but will not accommodate larger 1/48th scale planes so those get to sit and cure naturally.

    STYNYLREZ Primers.

I've used it with good results. I have heard complaints from folks that ordered it and got it delivered during cold weather and apparently it doesn't like the cold.

    New to modelling

After the tank is filled with air your compressor will only kick on occasionally to keep it full. Those small compressor are pretty quiet.

    New to modelling

I started with a set up like this but have since switched to the compressor with the air tank like Pantherman posted. I recommend you go straight to the one with the tank, it's a world of difference.

    Tamiya 1/48 Me 262

Thanks I might give it a try. I'm on a no primer kick right now but I may have to give that a try. I like Stynylrez but it does have a smell to it. Nothing harsh but it stinks.

Tamiya AS color conversion chart for mixing Tamiya acrylics

Thanks for the info. I'm currently monkeying around with some ammo paints. I like my Tamiya paints and don't mind the mixing but if I find a water based acrylic that I can be happy with I'm good with that too. Never tried AK paints but I'll look at them.

    New member saying Hi

Welcome to the hobby. If you have any Tamiya kits in your stash start on one of those for a build you will enjoy and complete.

Just a Thought about Airplane Canopies

Good grief that would probably take me a month to mask that canopy. I find canopy masking to be intense and take many breaks while trying to get a good mask on a canopy. Wearing reading glasses while looking through a small lighted magnifying lamp wears on the eyes quickly. Currently letting...
