    Tamiya Sherman M4A3E8 - 1/35 Scale

Started the build this weekend. Been 35 some years since I've built a model. Felt good actually but the parts were certainly harder to see. :) I use a lit magnifying stand. I also found using sprue cutters was certainly the easy way to go too. I used xacto blades before. Also found the...

Sherman M4A3E8 "Easy Eight" Paper Model

Hey Jim, So you are gluing paper joints that are just butted together. That sounds very intricate. Are you working from a kit or custom design and paper prints? Either way its pretty amazing what you can do with detailed origami. -Steve

Sherman M4A3E8 "Easy Eight" Paper Model

Looking great. The bogies have hubs that are set back into the cylinder. I am still wondering how that worked. -Steve

    Tamiya Sherman M4A3E8 - 1/35 Scale

Re: Tamiya Sherman M4A3 75mm gun - 1/35 Scale Probably not because I have some ideas for the diorama that isn't a winter theme. Thanks for the interest though. I have no idea what I'm doing but there's no time to waste getting it done! ::)

Re: Tamiya Sherman M4A3 75mm gun - 1/35 Scale urumomo, My OP says I am doing to do a paint scheme different from the Tamiya box image. I don't like that look much either. -Steve

    Tamiya Sherman M4A3E8 - 1/35 Scale

Re: Tamiya Sherman M4A3 75mm gun - 1/35 Scale Ok, picture this. The one time when it would run would be late in the evening (the only time I can find to do hobbies, think: house full of needy family). So its either maintain a happy home with sleeping members using a quiet compressor or wake...

    Tamiya Sherman M4A3E8 - 1/35 Scale

Might as well chronicle my adventure here. This will be my first model build attempt with attention to scale details. I know there will be plenty of mistakes but it should still be fun and still be a great learning experience. Just ordered my first airbrush (Badger Patriot 105) with Master...

    Primer Question

Makes sense. In other forums there were some who swore by lacquer based primers. I think even Paul Budzik who seems to be very knowledgeable on scale modeling mentions this. But on the other hand I've heard acrylic is fine too. Hmmm, huge topic eh'? I've been watching a few videos of tank...

    Primer Question

Hopefully this is sort of related to this topic of primers. Should we worry about acrylic primer on plastic adhesion issues especially if we plan to weather the tank with chipping agents? That video link was great because being new to scale modeling I have been trying to figure out the...

    Hi from San Diego

Hi all. I can't say that I'm an "addict" (yet) since I am just starting out. The last model I built was back in 1981-ish timeframe when I was in my teens. I am 50 now but young at heart. I have a Tamiya 1/35 scale M4A3 Sherman tank sitting here staring at me from the box, unassembled as of...
