    Corellian freighter

Are we being trolled here? Well, we learn from our mistakes more than our success. My suggestion would be to pick up some cheap kits and work on paint and finish a bit.

Any way to paint in a both without venting to outside?

When I lived in an apartment, I made a small booth that would key into the bathroom sink. I ran a dryer vent hose into the fart fan. Worked very well. One caution with any fan is if you are venting very concentrated solvent based fumes, the fan itself can cause a flash fire if it isn't rated...

Does anyone know how to prevent or fix cracked air-dry clay

Applying the clay in thin layers will help. Also, letting your clay air dry a bit before using it will reduce shrinkage. If you are very patient, (most of us model builders are not :D) you can control the drying with a layer of damp paper towel and let it dry from the inside out. I have done...

    ARC 170 - pic heavy

I'll have an update soon. I was interrupted for a few days by other issues. multicam, the form is shown fairly early on in the thread. It was made in halves. The landing gear pod was done the same way, but a little more involved in building the final piece.

    ARC 170 - pic heavy

I am making some decisions as to how far to take the details. The scale will allow for some super detailing and making too many of those decisions in the master can limit the creativity later. I am going to etch a brass set, but I think some of those details will be in the mold. I will probably...

    ARC 170 - pic heavy

Here is the shell for the pod. I am rather pleased to have this done. It was a pain to draw, a pain to build the forms, a pain to vac and a pain to assemble. The canopy master is the last major assembly and then it is smooth sailing.

As I look at the 7 layers of styrene in the wing, I think this is how it must feel when the Taco Bell kid makes his first 7 layer burrito.

    Brass Tie Fighter

I will be updating this soon. I have several big projects going simultaneously. The wings for the tie are fantastic in the way they turned out. This is a part of a much larger project that includes multiple subjects. There are also 1/48 photo etched speeder bikes in the works that are quite...

    Brass Tie Fighter

I sort of switched tracks on the Big Spring Contest. I decided the Naboo fighter would be worthy of casting since I was doing internals so I need a new vacuum pump. Started doing files for photo etched 1/144 Ties. SSM forum link if anyone is interested...
