Thanks for the comments. Took her to the IPMS Irish National Show at the weekend. She took commended in her category, but won best weathered aircraft- the prize was a €50 voucher for Mig products. Absolutely delighted.

Well- she is finished. Just a shame I couldn't get it done in time for the contest. Anyway- here she is.

The detail in that is fantastic, Joe. I tried to build one of these years ago. It ended up in the bin, but I had a Paragon resin cockpit in it that I salvaged and still intend to use in the future.

Thanks, Nick. Going away for a few days to sunny Portugal. Last update before I go. Pretty much finished all the paint/weathering to the upper fuselage. Will get the bottom done when I get back and get her all together. The cowling is not glued on yet, btw.

Been doing a bit of weathering. Adding some worn effects and dirt to the wing roots, and stains from some of the hatches. This is just a very thin mix of paint about 90% thinner. All panels lines have been given a wash of AK Interactive Panel liner.

Masks off to reveal the NMF finish on the leading edges of the wings and tail. Next up will be clearcoat, ready for decals.

As promised here are a couple of shots of the upper surface of P-47M. I used Mr Hobby Cobalt Blue deepened with black to simulate the slightly faded black look of the aircraft. WIll try to get this finished in the next day or so before clear coating and getting decals on.

Sadly- this will not be finished for the competition. Some rather issues going on in my personal life means my modelling activities are on the back burner for a while.

Thanks, Adam. Life has got a little in the way of modelling over the past couple of days. Only thing I have done since the last update is glue the wings on. This will be touch and go to get finished, although I do have a nice 4 day break off work this weekend.
