    Enterprise D - from "Generations"

Haha! Thanks TRM :) Thanks John. Yeah, I think i'm gonna have to try my hand at homebrew photo-etching. Have you ever tried it? Cheers dude, it blew my fuses a few times rather than my mind! How long in total? Don't know in hours but the date stamp on the very first picture on my pc is 30th...

    Enterprise D - from "Generations"

Thanks everyone :) I can hardly believe it but this is the LAST WIP update for this entire build, the model is now complete with just a few snags to sort out...seems like it came out of nowhere and was just sitting there finished all of a sudden!! So, this being the last WIP, there's plenty of...

    Enterprise D - from "Generations"

Thanks everyone, I was worried for a while that the repair would still leave a scar but it'll be totally invisible when it's all done and dusted I didn't strengthen it other than running CA into the crack, I couldn't bring myself to fully break it open again. This is the 3rd time I've built...

    Enterprise D - from "Generations"

Yeah sounds logical, I should have given it some thought when I was starting the build but it totally slipped my mind until it cracked there again. I'll definately reinforce along that join if I do another one, thanks for the brain food dude :) as for the repair... Phew! I hope thats...

    Enterprise D - from "Generations"

Thanks man, we're getting there slowly 8) She's a long slog too...! ;) Thanks buddy Sanded with 600grit on the outside, stuffed with foam sheet inside, the stuff that seperates the clear sprues. Took a bit of fiddling to get the foam to diffuse the light evenly but it looks great to the...

    Enterprise D - from "Generations"

It's been a while but it's time for an update. It feels strange saying this but...all windows are finally plucked, preened and refined to where I'm happy with them! Hooray! I thought I'd NEVER get it done! There's just a couple of pin-prick light leaks here and there to address but from here on...

    Enterprise D - from "Generations"

And now lit I'm very pleased with how these turned out, the camera accentuates the hot spots though, they look smoother to the eye. Thats all for now, hope you enjoy the pics. I'll be back soon when I start adding the photo-etch details and get all of the remaining windows plucked on the...

    Enterprise D - from "Generations"

The most progress has been made on the nacelles, which are all completely azteced, details painted and ready for decals! Here's the 2nd and 3rd layer masks Here's how the aztecing turned out after the mist coat And here they are with all of the paint work done, first unlit

    Enterprise D - from "Generations"

Time for an update then! I've finally made enough progress to post plenty of pics, it's been a massive slog trying to get through the window refining stage but I'm finally getting towards the end...! I've refined all of the lower saucer windows, they look way better now Close up I've got...

    Enterprise D - from "Generations"

Thanks for the bump dude 8) I'm sad to say I haven't put much work into it lately, the windows are seriously kicking my backside! I thought the aztecing would be the back-breaker of this build but getting the windows cleaned up is proving to be the REAL hard job! I am picking away at it...

    Enterprise D - from "Generations"

Thanks John. I've not had much experience with photoetch so far, apart from the museum window part on the Moebius Galactica, but I'm really liking them. I cant wait to get the phaser and transporter emitter details on Cheers buddy, I've been working through your youtube videos...LOVE the Slave...

    Enterprise D - from "Generations"

Hello folks, time for another update...with plenty of photo's! I'm determined to put this never-ending masking hell behind me so I've been hitting it quite hard for the last few days, and i'm happy to say that the entire secondary hull has been finished! At last!! Here's the final masking layer...

    Enterprise E - "First Contact"

I only used the kit decals, they looked accurate enough to me. All of the aztecing, pinstriping and other details were masked and painted. Took months, but the "D" I'm working on now is harder...I'm so relieved it's nearly over (well, the aztec stage at least!) Soong

    Enterprise-E
