Lavochkin Alert! (best WWII single engine fighter?)

This ride, the 'La-7' was the most dominating of all WWII era fighters in my online dogfighting experience. On top of that, it was about the last gen of Russian designs that were not fugly, at least for several years. I bought a kit for$15, it included an Eduard PE kit. This is my first kit...

"Scratch one flat-top"! (apologies for my total bias) That is a beautiful job you have done to a great/honorable/historical ship.

I apologize. My favorite form of humor is sarcasm. EDIT: meaning I have zero skill in scratch building, those of you who do...amaze me

    French FT-17 1/35 Meng Kit

A really good argument can be made that the Matilda was the greatest tank of WWII.

SMA What's New In Your Stash?!?

I was in college when the first "Ninjas" came out. While I admit they were fast, and even revolutionary, my Honda CBF ate them for lunch. Of course mine was nowhere near stock, it just looked that way. I miss her, and the life, had I not sold in 1986, I'd not be typing this.

    Border models zero

Very nice! I've broken the bags on an A6M recently, looking forward to seeing your progress. I'm only looking at a 1/48 version,. so much easier, essentially one sprue other than the 4 big parts.

    Emhar 1/72 F-94C Starfire

I keep pulling that Monogram F8 outta the closet. The box is open but the bags are not. Raised panels in all....ouch. But that is not really one of the 100s. My F-100 is a Trumpeter, the 101 is Revell (Germany), 102 is 'Model Master' (the old one), 104 is Kinetic, 105 is Hobby Boss, 106 does...

    Emhar 1/72 F-94C Starfire

Ya know, I was never a fan of the USAF inter-war years. I do not mean 1918-1940. I mean 1946-1950. That sir, is one GEORGEOUS aircraft! (edit: I am trying to assemble the entire 'century series' in 1/48)

    Sunken Titanic Concept 1/700 Revell

I confess I know less than nothing about the true sinking event. But those two breaches (If I am understanding, maybe I'll delete this later :-)) sank the entire ship

    Why why PE metal parts

I keep a small bottle of acetone at my bench, an old square bottle that used to have Testors Enamel thinner in it. The larger square ones with 1.25oz. Could I just swish the tip in there a bit and wipe with a paper towel? I've been using those tiny flexi-tubes with luck, and I have 100+ of...

    Why why PE metal parts

Thinking how cheap sewing needles are in bulk, they also come in HUGE variety of sizes. How do you keep the tip clean, like Barley does with pliers? Seems dangerous to the tip, do you replace them often?
