After reviewing the decals are pretty good. You'll need to clear coat before using them. I'm guessing that it was inkjet printed, but they look good and seem to be sized correctly. Worth getting especially if on sale.

Probably because MCW aren't acrylic and even if I wanted to go laqcuer this stuff is much hotter than almost every other hobby paint. My impression is quality control is hit or miss with the new ownership. One day if I need a very accurate classic color, maybe I'll spend the $$ and try them...

Glad that works for you. I'll use the cheaper thinners to clean the airbrush when spraying anything but water based acrylics.

I bet a wash over the pipes would dull it down a bit and would look very good.

I wonder if you could cut a small thin piece of styrene or translucent sheet for the reverse light?

I've not used the Tamiya acrylics but I've heard Mr. Hobby Leveling Lacquer Thinner is perfection with these "Acrylic" paints.

I've heard real good things about AK. I do have some Vallejo in my stash, but most of my acrylics are AMMO. I've been loving the Tamiya lacquers I'm using on my current Eagle One project.

FYI: just an update on this seller. I ordered the decals on July 24th, and they still haven't shipped as of Aug 1. I messaged the seller for an ETA and he hasn't responded back yet. I'll update when I get the actual product for review before giving any recomendations on this seller.

thankfully you can get spare parts on eBay or buy STL files to 3D print. It's a pretty cool toy - Mattel went all out - until the show was canceled 6 months later in 1976 :(

More on my Commander Adama. I still need to touch up the eyebrows and lashes etc and not done with the skin tones yet, but due his size, and my lack of paint skills, I don't want to overdo light effects. I'm also planning on lighting him inside a display case.
