USS Enterprise E from Star Trek Nemesis

I've already attached the pylons to the nacelles. Plus I don't live in America and I'm not sure what sort of equivalents to Purple Power or WD-40 are. If I was to go the chemical route, I could try using Zippo lighter fluid since that works very well at removing difficult price tags and stickers...

USS Enterprise E from Star Trek Nemesis

For my Reliant, I have the official AMT aztec decal set. For the Refit, I have the HDA Modelworx aztec decals. I am planning to get HDA's aztec decals for the E as well. Several years ago, I was working on the 1:1000 Refit by PL and had some decal screw ups. Some of the decals on one pylon...

Looking for top 5 best beginner model kits

If you can get a hold of it, Creos/Mr. Hobby has a series of acrylic gouache weathering paints and a special solvent for it. I don't have any of the paints, but I use the solvent with Turner Acrylic Gouache paints I can find easily at stationery stores here in Japan. I recently used it for panel...

USS Enterprise E from Star Trek Nemesis

Yeah, I was implying that these are all the larger-sized kits. Currently I'm doing the 2500 E, but I was asking about the 1400 E in regards to the 1400 C & D, 537 Reliant & Refit. I have Tenacontrols lighting chips to do the E or the other ships. I think the Refit will require the most amount of...

SMA What's New In Your Stash?!?

I'm not very big on Gundam models and in fact I've downsized much of the Gunpla I know I'd never get around to building, but the Zetaplus is pretty cool. I like these old Gundam Sentinel kits. R2-D2 sofubi by Kaiyodo My friend gave me this old legacy Macross kit. It comes with a 1:144 scale...

Star Wars B-Wing (Bandai 1:72 scale)

Well, I just have to ask. Was it indeed a NICE PRICE?

USS Enterprise E from Star Trek Nemesis

Hey, I know this is an old thread I'm resurrecting, but I am late to the party. I had seen some of the posts back when you were updating this, but yesterday I went through the whole build process on here because I have this kit and am interested to start working on it sometime soon. You did a...

    Accessories for Star Wars models

That AT-AT kit by MPC comes with turrets and Snowspeeders. Those Snowspeeders are supposed to be in-scale with the AT-AT, and IIRC those Snowspeeders are kinda close in size to the 1:144 Snowspeeders by Bandai. The thing about AT-ATs is that since it's a movie, the scale can be whatever. The...

Clear coating chrome like Green Stuff Chrome Metal

I have no idea about Green Stuff paints, but Alclad Aqua Gloss is specifically made to be applied over their chrome lacquer paint. Sometimes you do need to clear coat a chrome surface, for decals and such. I dislike those metal colors by Mr. Color. They're gross because they just keep coming...

    Your preferred paint brand(s)?

Yeah, but Tamiya acrylics just smell so delicious. I don't know what it is about that smell, but it has a slightly sweet smell. At least that's how I interpret it. I personally don't care for Tamiya acrylics. The range of colors is rather limited, mostly to Tamiya products. It's great if...

MPC Star Wars Imperial Shuttle ST-321

I think it was on Pinterest where I found a fantastic build of this kit with Han, Luke, and the gang in the cockpit. It looked fantastic, including lights on R2's head. However essentially the cockpit we see in ROTJ is similar in size to the Millennium Falcon and the scale of this kit has the...

This online plastic model sale swindler made the national news here in Japan

This incident happened in November and was in the news for a while. https://mustsharenews.com/online-seller-scammed-returned/ Mercari is an online flea market that's pretty cool. However a dishonest buyer who bought a Tamiya tank model demanded a refund and he returned an entirely different...

    Star Wars Theme Group Build

Alright lads, over the weekend I took my Wave metal cutters and shortened that landing gear by several millimeters. Since it's pewter, it was soft enough to cut, file down, and drill holes into the parts. I used my pinvise to drill a 1mm hole into the middle, then CA glued a brass rod to connect...

    Star Wars Theme Group Build

The landing gear is pewter, so I could probably cut its length a bit easily enough. I'll give it a shot. The way it plugs in makes it obvious as to the angle it sits in. If I can adjust this, I think it will look better.

    Star Wars Theme Group Build

Are you sure? Shouldn't the fuselage be level with the ground, instead of the nose up in the air like that? I was afraid that it might be back heavy before the final assembly, but that isn't the case. Instead, the nose gear seems to be a bit too tall.

So... I guess I'm done? What do you think? Is the front landing gear standing too tall?
