Into the Void

DUDE!
I read that title and IMMEDIATELY started playing Sabbath in my head!

I will now try to title every future thread with a Sabbath or Deep Purple song name. (Highway Star WILL NOT be used. Livin' Wreck, however, is likely)

"Made in Japan" is the only Deep Purple "album" I ever listen to, every other album or performance or versions of their songs
pales alongside that 'magical' album. By the way, "Highway Star" on this album is one of my favorites.
The same goes for the "Grand Funk Live" 'album'...you should check it out if you haven't already.
As far as Black Sabbath goes.....everything after "Technical Extacy" were commercialized flops in my opinion.
But that's just me. When one hits 70...he's heard it all. ;) "Paranoid" is probably one of the best 'rock' albums ever made.

... you definitely are a master of debris.
You know, it's really not that difficult, old wood veneres peeling off of old water damaged desks etc..
are great for imitating shattered wood from blown up houses etc... brick walls are carved foam board.
Dirt and small debris from garden and from bottom of the wood box can be mixed with white glue
and a bit of water and a drop or two of water based black paint. This mixture can be spread about
to create the effect of a real after the battle look.
Something most modelers neglect and tend to have an unnatural "tidied up look".
Another basic rule of thumb that I use is " when it looks about done...."double it! no, triple it!"
Don't worry, it will be okay!

Geez, and to think four years ago, my wife and I demo'd and hauled 120 yards of debris outta this old house!

Since joining this forum, seeing the amazing work on dioramas, figures, weathering, build quality and range of subjects, at 66 it is both inspiring and discouraging to learn that some techniques developed over 20 years or more!
I face that same quandary every time I go to practice one of the instruments that I only just went back to a few years ago after an absence of 20 to 50 years!
However, I am lucky to have a 'can do' attitude, and I'm slowly formulating ideas for my own diorama techniques that I may explore some time in the near future.
One of the things I like to do with any project is gather material and ideas... so I think I will start organizing and adding to my own photos of landscapes and objects left in the elements.
For example, a few days ago, while walking the dog, I came across this little gem: a piece of pavement crumbled away from the path in a forested park.

Is that perfect, or what!

Have you ever listened to Grand Funk album Grand Funk? Game changer for sure. Fireball by deep purple is a good album so is machine head. Anyway. Enjoy listening and building models. Let me know if you like grand funk. Also masters of reality is my favorite Sabbath album.

Master of Reality is #two for me easy, I have a dio on the site called "War Pigs" concerning the Russia / Ukraine war.
concerning music I am very miopic and narrow minded such as "Led Zeppelin" #1 # 2 and a few songs after that.....etc...
Never liked most of the iconic groups like The Stones or the Beatles, Love Santana, Hendricks, Skynard......RAMSTIEN!!!
Very early Aerosmith and the like.....no "Dude looks like a lady" though!
