Slaughter of innocents

Harsh but well done.

The lone horse left dutifully standing there so poignant.

Mr Google says approx 8 million horses died in ww1; between 2 and 5 million in ww2.

All for the supposed inheritors of the earth, masters of civilization and lords of the animal kingdom, as evidenced by our 'higher' capacity for thought, compassion, empathy and love. :(

Great capture of the grim aftermath of the battle. I like that you have left out any human presence.... it creates an even more eerie scene.

Cheers,
C.

Thanks guys, I felt it was a story that needed to be told, these loyal and gentile giants are probably THE most abused
animal in the long and bloody history of mankind and his cruel and senseless wars.
Not to mention the basic use and abuse at an unfathomable scale in the agricultural, transportation, industrial
and just about anything one can think of where brute strength was needed to accomplish almost any task.
And what did those who may have survived this horrendous use and abuse receive?
Well this is a family site so nuff said.

Jim.
