Revell Peterbilt 359 Conventional

Moving on nicely now. Have to say this cheaper kit is much better to build than the more expensive one. Everything just fits really nicely.

My nemesis as usual is the fuel tanks. Probably going to struggle with the decals as well but hopefully not. Pantherman

... do tell, what's the deal?
Seam line's on chrome parts. It's just annoying that you have to strip it all off, make good the joints and re-chrome the parts. I have yet to find a spray finish as good as the chrome finish on the kit parts. Pantherman

Ah, having never built kits with chrome, I often wondered why the oven cleaner and re-chroming that seems so frequent...

Revell Chrome spray in the rattle can is my fave. Try Alclad Gloss Black Base as the primer. The chrome spray goes on beautifully with 2-3 light coats. Finally and most importantly, you should let it dry for three weeks. Sooner and the high chrome shine will dull with the least bit of handeling.

Hi BD, many thanks for your advice. Will give that a go. Pantherman

Starting to get to the end of this build now, just some chrome parts to fit. Still waiting for my chrome to arrive so can't fit the fuel tanks yet. I will do a final set of photos when it's all completed but here are a few pics for now. Pantherman
